I would like some information to contact the PAC responsible for getting the word out about the schools at Hanover.
I as a parent, am not proud of our district. I have been involved with this school district for the past 15 years. I understand budget cuts, but at what expense to our staff and students? I have been an employee here for almost five years. In the last two years, I have felt that our school was finally making progress, and now we are starting over again. I feel betrayed by our school board, and am very discouraged about the upcoming school year. Writing this may not be in my best interest since cuts are being made, but I feel that something has to be said.
Howdy-
I’m a little worried about the extreme focus being made towards achieving high CSAP scores rather than focusing on lifetime knowledge.I understand that the scores are important for something like funding, but at what long term expense to the students? Learning about IT, science and social studies seems to be missing completely, while all focus is made on language arts and math (directly geared for the CSAP test). Wouldn’t it make more sense to go back to using a well-rounded curriculum?
Hopefully my post about the tons of grant money avail. for our district will make those things more possible.

Hi Amy,
I understand that budget cuts are difficult; however, I think it is important to understand that it isn’t just our district that is having to make cuts… it is the entire state of Colorado, our entire nation actually. I am actually looking forward to the new school year. I think there were some big changes that needed to be made, and I think our current school board is going to do a great job of making great things happen.
I would like to know what is going on this school year. Is Hanover officially going to be closed and if so when is registartion at Praire Heights.
Hi Melissa,
The Hanover Elementary is going to be closed, and all students preschool-age to 4th grade will be attending Prairie Heights Elementary. The 5th and 6th grades will be staying in Hanover and have their own classrooms that will be located in the Middle School. This isn’t too big of a big change for the 5th and 6th grade as they already had to come to the Jr/Sr High for their specials, PE, music, art, and then lunch. The only difference for them will be that their classrooms will be at end of the hall in the Middle School.
To answer your question about registration, you will be able to register for any grade at Prairie Heights on August 5th from 10 am to 6 pm or at Hanover Jr/Sr High School, again for all grades, on August 6th from 10 am to 6 pm. I look forward to seeing you at one of the schools.
Kind regards,
Tambra
