Dear Parent, Guardian, and Extended Family:
Last week I sent out Parent Action Group Questionnaires to all families in the district. As many of you have noticed some questionnaires went home with kids, and some came to your home in the mail. The reason for this was two reasons, one, I was trying to be frugal since mailing them cost $1.05 per envelope. Secondly, we wanted to have some fun between grades at the elementary level by creating some competition between classes for who could return the most before the end of the week. So I hope that no one felt pressured by your kids, because when our kids brought their questionnaire home… rest assured they wanted it back right away so they could win; anyway my apologies for putting you in the middle of a competition.
For middle school and high school we felt that the best way to contact families was by mail; so if there is any confusion about receiving a copy in the mail, or from your child, again my apologies for not clarifying that.
I want to thank all of you who have responded already. I spent most of the day today going through your responses. I must say, this is really a great community. Your passion, ideas, and desire to see Hanover School District 28 become not just a success, but a game-changer is inspiring to me. The other thing that is standing out to me is the longing to be a unified community.
Also please understand that this questionnaire is designed to put parents in the driver seat of ideas. Yes that does require some of our time, but in the long run our greatest endeavor, our kids, will pay off with future generations hopefully better equipped, and better focused then we were.
As long as you’re green you’re growing.
As soon as you’re ripe… you start to rot.

Here are just some of the things Parent Action Groups can accomplish:
- Protect people from the black hole of time commitment.
- Creates a network for communication between families.
- Brings new ideas… new excitement… fresh perspective to the district.
- Fun… Fun… Fun… nothing like building new relationships, and achieving together along side our kids.
- Creating and implementing long range district goals and meaningful benchmarks for both students and faculty. Â
- Organization… need I say more.
Nothing like a little Rah, Rah for the real hero’s of the world! J  If you have not received a questionnaire yet, please contact me and I will get you one, or contact Jodie at 683-2247 ext.1 Our combined perspective will shape short and long range goals, all of our combined input will determine what kind of grants we pursue so please share your ideas.
Take care,
