Hanover Hosts A Mass Casualty Event

Hanover will be hosting its first mass casualty event for the Pikes Peak Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS) and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in June.  The event will be centered around Hanover High School and the surrounding area.  This training exercise will only be a success with your help.  Volunteer sign-up is open to anyone over the age of 13 years of age.  More details are listed below.  Let’s all join in and help make this exercise be a success.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

  • Who: Citizens 13 years of age or older to serve as simulated casualties (Minors MUST be accompanied by a parent or adult who is prepared to remain on site throughout the exercise)
  • What: Exercise NOAA’s Ark, El Paso County Full Scale Exercise
  • Where: Ellicott Elementary School, 350 S. Ellicott Hwy. Ellicott, CO 80808 and various locations in El Paso County
  • When: June 5, 2010 7:00am to 6:00pm

The South Central All-Hazards Region, Pikes Peak Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS) and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a Full Scale Exercise (FSE) involving a mass casualty event at a rural school caused by a tornado. The exercise provides the opportunity for the emergency services of El Paso County and the City of Colorado Springs to focus on their initial response to a significant event.
